I find it quite disheartening to see so-called conservatives who call themselves “Patriots” supporting the actions of suicide bomber Joseph Stack, who burnt his house down and then crashed his plane into an IRS office building, killing two people, including an IRS employee. He was angry about having to pay taxes, about a government he feels doesn’t listen to him, and, I don't know, maybe he didn't like the Olympics opening ceremonies.
Hey, I can sympathize with him – but I can’t
condone him. How different is he from the 9/11 attackers, except that he’s
not nearly as good at causing massive destruction?
I don’t like the 2010 I’ve found either, but I’m
not about to take out other people over it. And while I don’t
support uber-taxation, I *do* see the point to basic taxation –
how else are we going to pay for essential services like a transportation infrastructure,
emergency medical services, and of course a strong national defense. Helllooooo?
Al-Qaeda? Remember them? We need to fight the terrorists, and the
Communists in North Korea and Red China! And Iran!
And while I don’t have any great respect for IRS
employees, I sure as hell do for war heroes – and finding out that one of
the victims did two tours in Vietnam really makes me want to reach into the
grave and bitch-slap Joseph Stack’s unpatriotic, un-American candyass
into hell where he belongs.
I recognize these extremist nutbags – in 1987 we know
them as “survivalists”, fruitcakes in cammie pants and
multi-pocketed windbreakers with stockpiled guns in the woods waiting for the
day when “socio-economic collapse” or some such nonsense brings the
US down. They’re an embarrassment to us level-headed
Reagan-supporting conservatives, as this terrorist dickhead should be an
embarrassment to level-headed conservatives today. Folks tell me that these guys
will have a field day in 1999 when they wait for Armageddon or something with
the world’s computers.
Fortunately, plenty of Patriot groups and Tea Parties are coming out against this selfish sonofabitch, so I have faith that *most* of my peeps can still tell the difference between what’s wrong and what’s right.
And to those of you who think he’s a hero, I would suggest you please move to the Middle East and go support your other hero Osama bin Laden. You’ve got much in common!
Andrew Joseph Stack was nothing but a coward, to his family, to god, to our country. Boo, hoo, hoo, I have money problems and its not my fault, it the big bad government. This domestic (white trailer trash) terrorist who first burned his house and crashed his plane into a building during business hours and killed Vernon Hunter a 27 year Federal employee and 20 year veteran of the US Army with two tours in the Vietnam War.
